Up on the Downs

Salisbury, Wiltshire

Organiser's Description

Following on from the success of Race On The Chase in October 2019 we are offering a similar event in Spring 2020 with 10k and Half Marathon races over new courses.

The terrain is gently undulating, with a couple of good hills just to remind you it’s not all plain sailing!

Aid stations will be provided with drinks and snacks, there will also be medical cover, and of course the event is fully insured.

Sorry no dogs or Buggies etc. We welcome walkers who may just wish to enjoy the scenery and are very much hoping that first timers decide to give it a go at what will no doubt be a friendly and inspiring event.

Medals and a hero’s welcome will be waiting for you at the end of the iconic avenue finishing straight. Participants should be 18 or over on the day of the event.

NB - This will be a cupless event, and runners will need to bring a suitable receptacle with them.

Start Time

Ample car parking, loos and refreshments are all at the start area.

Tenantry Farm, Rockbourne, Fordingbridge SP6 3PB, UK

Registration is from 8am for both races. The half marathon starts at 9.30am and the 10k at 10am. A short briefing will be given 5 minutes before the start of each race. Race numbers will be issued on the day.

A challenging trail run.

This was a great trail run, mud and water adding to the challenge. Very friendly atmosphere throughout. The added mile or so in the half really pushed me as a runner and I loved it..!

Challenging multi-terrain run

Enjoyed the day, occasionally a few more markers would give a little more confidence that you’re still on the right route. Lots of surface water made an interesting addition to the run. No complaints at all thanks for the coffee & cake which was most welcome at the finish

Brilliant event

Really enjoyed the 10k route, ok it was more like 12k but I understand how difficult it is to get the exact distance going across countryside. It was such lovely countryside that it didn’t matter anyway. Well done to organisers and thank you for the coffee and cake afterwards. Definitely be looking out for the next one. 😀

Good friendly event

A well organised event with a friendly atmosphere. Due to bad weather leading up to the event the course was changed slightly meaning the 10k increased to 12k, that’s all part of the welcomed challenge. Well done to the organisers, and thanks for the free brews. A great way to spend a Sunday morning. I’ll be back next year.

brilliant challenging trail run

hills, mud, hills, streams, hills, water, puddles, hills, ponds, mud, hills then a bit extra just to make sure (and some hills) then a cup of tea and cake - my first trail run as got me hooked!

Very poor

Less than a week before the run, I received an email stating that instead of it being 10k, as booked, it would now be 12k.

I booked this to push myself and had been training for 10km. As I have a medical condition relating to my feet, I didn't know how the additional distance would affect them.

I emailed the organiser, who completely dismissed my concerns and ignored further emails.

I'm very disappointed in the organisation and will not be booking again.
