Participants will tackle a stunning 10k route that winds along the Bristol to Brecon Trail, leading to the serene Talybont Reservoir. The Wales Epic 10k offers three dynamic ways to participate: the Pro Ruck Category, where you'll take on the course with a weighted Rucker 4.0 backpack provided by GORUCK; the Novice Ruck Category, featuring a lighter backpack; or simply enjoy the scenic route as part of the Trail Run Category. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or just looking to have fun, this event caters to all fitness levels. You’ll start with fellow participants, receive a finish time, and have the freedom to choose your pace. Join us for a day filled with camaraderie, challenge, and the stunning beauty of Wales!

The 2025 Epic 10k Ruck Series sponsored by GORUCK begins in Wales, in the beautiful Brecon Beacons.
This stunning 10k route starts in the Talybont-On-Usk Village before heading onto the Bristol to Brecon Trail towards the Talybont Resevoir. Your climbing skills will be put to the test as you head up and over Tor-Y-Foel before heading back down towards the start point. Breathtaking views, testing climbs & speedy downhills, this route has it all!
GORUCK are our official partners for this series which means every single person signed up to either the PRO RUCK & NOVICE RUCK category will get to use their industry leading Rucker 4.0 backpack at the event.
Rucking or Trail Running?
As with all of our events in our Epic 10k Ruck Series, there are three main ways you can take on the Wales Epic 10k route:
The Pro Ruck Category - i.e. take on the 10k route with the addition of a weighted backpack that we will provide you with on the day (25lb/11.3kg for men, 15lb/6.8kg for women).
The Novice Ruck Category - take on the same 10k route with the addition of a lighter backpack that we will provide you with on the day (15lb/6.8kg for men, 10lb/4.5kg for women).
The Trail Run Category - i.e. take on the same 10k route as a standard trail run!
Competitive or Just for Fun?
Everyone in the same category will start at the same time and will receive a finish time so it's up to you how you take on the course. You can push the pace and race against your fellow competitors or take the route on at your own pace.
