Organiser's Description
The popular Welwyn Half Marathon starts and finishes on the impressive 400m athletics track at Gosling Sports Park. You will be directed out of the stadium, towards the Cole Green Way – a disused railway line which is now a perfect traffic-free track to run along. After this traffic free section you will complete a short loop to bring you back onto the Cole Green Way again. You then complete the first section in reverse and finish on the track at Gosling Sports Park.
Taking place at the start of April, this is a perfect preparation race for anyone taking part in a Spring marathon.
This race will be operating a 3 hour cut off time, after which there will not be marshals and course signage available.
The course is accurately measured and held under a full UK Athletics race license. Ther race is chip-timed by our professional timing partner, Event Chip Timing and your results will appear on PowerOf10.
This event is more than just a run. You’ll be warmed up with personal trainers, welcomed home by a professional commentator and your cheer-squad will be kept fed and watered by quality caterers while you run.
The half-marathon will start at 09:00am. A FREE 400m Children’s Fun Run will also take place on the running track 30 mins before the half-marathon start (no need to book, just turn up to registration). Parents are welcome to run with their kids and use it as a warm-up for the main event!

Great event. It was not the easiest Half Marathon as it has so many hills but the route was very nice with beautiful views and it’s a very good training for a Marathon. I loved the fact there was children’s race before. My son enjoyed it and was very proud of himself winning 3rd place and getting a fantastic medal. I would definitely recommend this half marathon to all runners who like challenge.
