Organiser's Description

Brighton Phoenix Athletics Club hosts the Brighton Phoenix 10K on the middle Wednesday evening in July. This is our flagship club race and many of our members either marshal or run it themselves. Any funds raised go back into the club to help with the development of all our athletes. In addition, a substantial part of the funds raised go to our partner charity, the Brighton-based The Clock Tower Sanctuary.

The Phoenix 10K is a celebration of our club values in a single event. At Phoenix, you have the freedom to choose your own athletic path, and the club will support you to become the best you can. "Inclusive excellence" means we welcome everyone. No matter whether you run for Phoenix, another club or if you’re a free spirit, at the Phoenix 10k everyone is welcome. Whether you are targeting sub-30mins or sub-130mins, all paces and abilities are present and celebrated at the race.

The course is an out-and-back, fast course. The race runs west towards Shoreham on the promenade. After Hove Lagoon, the course meets Basin Road South. Following Shoreham Docks the race turns at Carats Café at 5km returning to the finish at Hove Lawns. Fast times are achievable on this course as it is flat, straight and one of the quickest 10km races in the UK.
