This is a true Last One Standing Backyard Ultra, hosted on a private Staffordshire farm and built around a festival-style race village that welcomes runners, crew, family and friends.

Participants run a 6.7km (4.167 mile) loop every hour, on the hour, until only one runner remains. Miss the bell and you’re out. There’s no finish time — how far you go is up to you.

The course runs entirely on private land, offering a clean, controlled loop across mixed terrain. The event village sits at the heart of the race, with a central tipi, athlete HQ barn, food stalls, hot drinks, DJ sets during the day, and space for gazebos, tents and car bases. Course Details

The course is a 6.7km (4.167 mile) loop set entirely on private farmland at Far Coley Farm. It follows a mixed-terrain route including grass fields, farm tracks and short tarmac sections.

The loop is designed to be fair, repeatable and runnable, with gentle undulations rather than major climbs, making it suitable for sustained pacing over many hours. It’s not technical, but it will test efficiency, patience and durability as fatigue builds.

The route is fully marked and returns to a central start/finish area each hour, keeping runners close to their crew and the race village throughout the event. Overnight, the course remains clearly visible with reflective markers, and runners are required to use headtorches during hours of darkness.
This is a course built for consistency and grit, where smart pacing and mental resilience matter more than raw speed.

    A Backyard Ultra is a Last One Standing endurance race. Runners complete a 6.7km (4.167 mile) loop every hour, on the hour. Each loop must be finished within the hour to count. When the bell rings, you go again. Miss the bell and you’re out. The race continues until only one runner remains.

  • Is there a cut-off time or distance?

    No. There is no cut-off time and no fixed distance. The race is open-ended — how far you go depends entirely on how long you can keep answering the bell.

  • What is the terrain like?

    The course is a mixed-terrain loop on private farmland, including grass, farm tracks and short tarmac sections. It is fully marked and designed to be runnable, fair and repeatable across multiple laps.

  • Can I bring family, friends or crew?

    Yes, dogs are allowed on site provided they are kept on a lead at all times and remain in the race village / crew areas. Dogs are not permitted on the course.

  • What facilities are available?

    The event includes: toilets and water points lighting for overnight running hot drinks and food stalls athlete HQ barn and race village seating Facilities are designed to support racing through the night and potentially across multiple days.

  • Is there food provided for runners?

    Basic food and hot drinks will be available on site. However, this is a self-sufficient endurance event — runners are responsible for their own nutrition and fuelling strategy.
