IMPORTANT EVENT UPDATE
We have made the difficult decision to cancel the Great Scottish Run 10k and half marathon that were due to take place on Sunday 3 October. We know our runners will be disappointed and we are too. Unfortunately, ongoing COVID-19 restrictions in Scotland mean it’s not currently possible to deliver events of the size and scale of the Great Scottish Run.

Although we anticipate the restrictions being eased by October, our timelines for planning the event mean we need more certainty around future guidance than we currently have in order to deliver this complicated event. We’ve reached this decision in consultation with Glasgow Life, and we thank them for their support. We hope you understand the reasons for this decision.

Next year’s Great Scottish Run will take place on Sunday 2 October and 2021 entries will automatically be rolled over to this new date. If you are unable to take part on the new date you can claim a refund. We will be in touch with all entrants by email with the link to claim your refund and information needed, so please check your inbox.

The refund will be your cost of entry minus a £5 administrative fee, as detailed in the terms and conditions at the point of entry. This fee covers some, but not all, of the costs we have already committed, such as fees charged to us to process the original booking, staff and supplier costs, and third-party payment providers. This is very much in line with other event and ticket providers across the industry.

The deadline for refunds is 10am on 10 August 2021 and refunds will be processed after this date.

Glasgow’s running highlight of the year is back. Each year 20,000 runners line up for the 10k & Half marathon, and 2,000 kids join the Super Saturday events. Runners follow a stunning route past the city’s most famous landmarks, along the River Clyde and through some of Glasgow’s greenest spaces. Starting in the heart of the city, runners soak up the atmosphere and music all the way to the finish in Glasgow Green, passing our famous entertainment zones every kilometre.

Glasgow comes alive on Great Scottish Run weekend and the people of the city will welcome you with open arms. It’s not to be missed! 99% of runners recommend this event but places are limited, so get in quick to secure your place on the start line.

We understand that there may be uncertainty over what is and isn’t going to be possible this year, but we want to give you the confidence to book your place knowing exactly what will happen if we can’t deliver the event as planned, or if you are personally effected by the pandemic.

In the scenario of a 2021 event date change or cancellation by us and for whatever reason, all entrants (including 2020 rollovers) will be automatically deferred into the subsequent staging of the event.
