Greensand Way Ultra Run

Guildford, Surrey

Staple Lane, Guildford, United Kingdom

Sat 11th May 2024

Starting at 08:00

1 race

£45.00

Organiser's Description

Starting and finishing at West Hanger, near Guildford, this run features some of the best parts of the North Downs Way AND the Greensand Way.

You will be guided by myself, an experienced ultra runner, running coach and Salomon athlete. This run is perfect as your first taste of ultra running, the route is taken care of and you will get the chance to learn from an experienced ultra runner, and get any running questions you may have answered.

We will begin our run by following the North Downs Way towards, and then past, Box Hill before making our way south to the Greensand Way. Once on the Greensand Way, a beautiful trail, we will head west. Our first big challenge will be to take on Leith Hill, the highest point in the South East of England. From there we will tick off various summits along the trail, including Pitch Hill and Holmbury Hill, all offering incredible views to the south. Finally, we will head north towards Shere and back to where we started.

Pace: This is not a race! We will run as a group and share this experience together. I advise that you have run at least 22 miles in training before trying this event. You should be able to comfortably run an average pace of 10 min/miles | 6 min/km for prolonged periods of time on the trail, and have a suitable level of fitness. Ultra running first timers encouraged!
