A race that delivers in so many ways; combining outstanding natural beauty and rich history with an exciting course and renowned Welsh support. Race in a destination featuring sweeping waterfront of Swansea Bay leading to the vibrant seaside village of Mumbles, before cycling onto the beautiful Gower Peninsula Swansea. A must-do race on any athlete's calendar.

Course Details

Swim
The one-loop 1.2-mile (1.9km) swim begins at the Prince of Wales Dock.
Avg. Water Temp 60° F / 16° C

Bike
The one-loop 56-mile (90km) bike course will go through Mumbles along roads that hug the Gower’s coastal clifftops before cycling out through Rural Swansea and heading back along Swansea Bay into the city.

Run
Lastly, athletes will take on a 13.1-mile (21.1km) two loop run course which takes them from the city centre, out past the new eye-catching gold-coloured Swansea Arena, towards Mumbles before heading back towards the finish line at the Marina.

How to Get There

Swansea is well connected by road and by rail, and if you’re making your own way to see us you’ll find that we’re well signposted and easy to get to.

By road
Swansea enjoys excellent transport links and is only a 3.5-hour drive from central London, less than an hour from Cardiff (which has an international airport), 2.5 hours from central Birmingham and the UK midlands, 1.5 hours from Bristol and less than 3 hours from Southampton and the densely populated UK south and southwest coast.

By train
Swansea railway station serves the city of Swansea, Wales. The station is located centrally in the city.

By air
The closest international airport to Swansea is Cardiff, just over a one hour drive away.

Registration INformation

Athletes who register 45 days before the race will not have race materials personalized (name on merchandise apparel and name on race bib.) Athletes will also not be assigned a bib number until Athlete Check-In.

Please allow approximately 30 days for your registration to appear in your IRONMAN account.

This event offers qualifying slots to the VinFast IRONMAN World Championship.

Athletes must be 18 years of age on race day.
