Midsummer Murder Trail Race

Sun 22nd June 2025

A traditional white and black windmill stands atop a lush, green hill surrounded by trees with fresh spring foliage. A narrow dirt path winds up the hill to the windmill. In the background, there's a small cottage and a wooden fence. The sky is clear with light clouds. A person in blue athletic gear, including a white and blue tank top and shorts, poses playfully while pointing towards a group of runners ahead on a grassy trail. The scene is set against a hilly background with overcast skies. A man in a red and black running outfit is jumping as he crosses the finish line beneath a red inflatable arch that reads "Racing Line Running." The background is a grassy area surrounded by trees, with a few people standing nearby. A close-up of several blue and silver medals for the "Midsummer Murder Trail Race." The medals depict a windmill against a blue sky with puffy clouds. The blue lanyards attached to the medals are printed with the event name "Midsummer Murder Trail Race. A group of six runners pose for a photo after a race. They are wearing bib numbers and medals, with four holding water bottles. They stand on grass with a red arch and trees in the background, all smiling and wearing athletic gear, including shorts and tank tops. A collage of runners crossing the finish line at an outdoor race. Each of the six images shows individuals or pairs of runners under a large red arch with "Running" written on it. The runners display various expressions of joy and exhaustion.

Organiser's Description

The Midsummer Murder trail races return for 2025 - are you up for the challenge?

The event takes place in the truly remarkable Hambleden Valley, with mile after mile of staggering Chilterns' beauty, picture perfect flint stone villages, country pubs and a fair few hills.

Our 10 mile and Half Marathon trail running courses are very challenging, but also achingly pretty. We'll be keeping the courses as per 2023, with the 10 mile event 10.4 miles long & the Half Marathon 14.3 miles in length.

There is a cut off time of 3 hours for each event - if you would normally take more than 2hrs 20 mins for a flat road Half Marathon, we recommend the 10 mile event.

Great event, marshalls were excellent at the start and finish and very supportive on the course. The route is very challenging but outweighed by the absolutely stunning scenery. Thanks to all involved!
