Organiser's Description
A chance to swim at Roadford Lake, a fantastic venue where swimming is not normally permitted. Returning for 2026 is our 750m swim which is ideal for first time open water swimmers. Plus a free tea, coffee or hot chocolate.
Kit Requirements
Just a swim suit and goggles. Wet suits will not be compulsory. However for first time open water swimmers they are strongly recommended. You should not swim skins unless you swim regularly in open water.
Wetsuits will keep you warmer and provide buoyancy that will make swimming easier. Short wetsuits or armless wetsuits are also permitted.

Well organised. Friendly marshalls. Nice to have drinks and snacks at the end. 4 pm start was a change from usual early morning, but it was a pleasant time to swim. I liked the in water start. Steep exit coming out but lots of helping hands were appreciated. The end buoy drifted quite a bit which
made it a long race!
Total mixture of swimming abilities. Nice relaxed vibe. Really enjoyed it.
