The Solway Half Marathon/Marathon is a flat and fast route on the scenic rural roads of North West Cumbria.
The race will start and finish in Anthorn, doing one or two loops using country lanes through Bowness-on-Solway, and returning to Anthorn via the coastal roads.
The race will feature chip timing by Timing4Sport, with all finishers receiving a bespoke medal.
The course is certified as a road Marathon and the course officially measured
This means the time is recognised by Run Britain Marathon Rankings and can be used a a good for age qualification for marathons such as London/Boston etc

Run was cancelled with 4 days to go due to ‘logistical reasons’, and haven’t heard a peep from them since. Communication is always welcome and looks like it’s sadly lacking here.

Thanks for your feedback, we realise the communication that was received leading up to the event was only to cancel the race and ideally we would have liked to have made sure this was communicated earlier.
Our focus is now on making sure next years races goes ahead at the start of June 2024.
