Course Details

Please note the course is path and we recommend road running shoes for this event - The course is flat - 5k turns at the far end of the lake and the 10k goes all the way to the end of the Drove Road before turning back on itself - Half Marathon does 2 full laps and after 3rd turns back on themselves- buggies are ok - wheelchair friendly - note the course may be altered at any point up to event day if necessary - the half marathon uses extra sections of Dorney Lake

How to Get There

By Car

By Train
If travelling by train the main stations for Dorney Lake are Slough (Paddington line) and Windsor & Eton Riverside (from Waterloo) but is also near Burnham, Taplow, Maidenhead and Windsor & Eton Central (branch of Paddington line). From these stations you can get a taxi or if with a bike you can ride to the venue. We recommend researching the best option before travelling to ensure you arrive on time.

Parking

Parking is available onsite at Dorney Lake

Please note when leaving the main carpark take care and follow our teams instructions as we will have triathletes cycling on this road from around 1030am until approximately 1130am.

Good experience to run the Half Marathon alongside ca. 80 other runners in July 2025. The course around Dorney Lake is very attractive. It‘s very open and thus quite exposed to the elements. It has also been the most minimalistic race I have run: self-service water stations, no mileage markers, no race photographer, but well organised by a friendly team. If you consider this race, best to be as self-sufficient as possible in terms of hydration, food, supporters :-)

My friend and I ran the Windsor HM and thoroughly enjoyed the Course. I was quite good passing other runners then encouraging them as you passed them on the many twists & turns of the Track. The Officially were really helpful and cheerful It would have been nice to have Age related Trophies ie, 1st 50yrs to 59yrs, 60yrs to 69yrs & 70yrs. This is how a lot of Races that we compete in organise their Trophies. Overal. Excellent. Dennis SP

This is a really nice 10k. It’s flat, it’s not a busy race, and it’s really friendly and quite low key in a way. It’s well organised and I think if you want to run a good time, or are new to events, it’s a good choice. And it’s lovely to be at Dorney Lake. There isn’t any shade on the course, so if sunny and warm, bring a hat.

Wretched rainy weather on the 6th of July did not lessen the fun of running the 5K event. Dorney Lake is a beautiful location- rain and headwinds or not! Well organised, with good support.
