Nestled in the heart of the stunning New Forest National Park's ancient woodland, the Maverick Adidas Terrex Original New Forest trail running event is sure to be the best way to start your 2024 season
All three New Forest routes start from Roundhill Campsite in Brockenhurst. Amongst a mix of trees that are, young and old evergreen and deciduous, the trails will take you on a tour through the beating heart of the Forest. Bats tend to roost in the broadleaved trees and thick young conifers provide shelter for deer, so keep your eyes peeled.
With the trails being moderately smooth and generally covered with a gravel surface, the three New Forest routes are suitable for all levels of Trail Runner. But beware, the trails can and do get wet and muddy, and don’t be fooled there are certainly some short, steep slopes hidden amongst the flora and fauna. Please note, there is no outpost on the Short route.
These trails will challenge you, but reward you. We look forward to seeing you in January and starting the new year the Maverick way. Whilst we can’t guarantee that it will be warm, we can promise a magical event with the crunching and crackling of frosted leaves underfoot.

A really well organised event. However, canicross entries are not made welcome by the race setup.
Having to start at the back and run through the crowd at the start is not only a safety issue, but unfair on canicross and non dog runners.
The results don't split canicross runners out meaning that my place has in effect knocked someone a place down on the results, despite me clearly having an advantage with a dog.
This sentiment was echoed by a lot of attendees and needs a change in the system, before there is an accident!
