Organiser's Description

Here Comes Summer!
We are delighted to be returning to Richmond Park for another rousing race!!

This is a Nice Work race
This means that this is an original Nice Work race, fully hosted and organised by us.

Event Overview:
The races take place within the picturesque setting of one of London's prettiest Royal Parks, the perfect setting for a pacy, traffic-free Summer Sunday morning 10k. Or, if you prefer, why not take on the 5k option? The undulating course covers the tracks, trails and footpaths within the park and is suitable for runners of all abilities, with beginners particularly welcome. You will pass around various sections of the park through Sheen Wood and past the Teck Plantation. You will also pass Bishops Pond and Richmond Gate. You may even be lucky enough to spot one of the many roaming herds of Red or Fallow Deer that have been known to watch the race as you pass down Sawyers Hill on a few occasions!

Course Details:
The Richmond 10k course is two laps and the 5k is a single lap route covering the paths and trails within the boundaries of Richmond Park.  The route is an undulating course with no significantly testing hills and covers a selection of hard track, tarmac with a small section on grass.  The course has been measured using a GPS and because of its multi terrain nature, cannot carry an official course measurement certificate.

Available Races/Distances:
10k / 5k

Prizes:
Bespoke medal for all finishers.
Trophy for 1st male and female winners (10k & 5k distances)
Trophies for age category winners (10k only)

Prizes are generously sponsored by Sporting Feet, who have stores in Putney and Richmond.   Special spot prize with a £20 voucher for one lucky runner.

On-the-day Entry Fees (subject to availability only):
10K race: £30.00
5K race: £25.00

Event information will be sent to all registered entrants prior to race-day.

How to Get There

By Foot and by bicycle:
The park is accessible by both foot and cycle although it is a long walk from Richmond. The start and finish of the race is on the Mortlake and Barnes side of the park. If you choose to cycle to the event you can leave your cycles with us at the race registration area whilst you run.

By Car:
There is a car park adjacent to the race HQ and start. Remember that the car park is shared with other park users, so you're advised to arrive as early as you can. You will be able to see the registration/start area from the car park and there will be signage to direct you. There is strictly no parking on any grassland or roads. For those using a Sat Nav the post code for the event is SW14 8BJ.

By Bus:
There are number of buses that travel to Richmond Park, however it is a large park so you will need to get buses which arrive at the North side of the park and alight at Bus Stop N and it is then a 10 minute walk from Upper Richmond Road to the event. The buses that travel to Richmond Park are:
190 Hammersmith – Richmond
391 Hammersmith – Richmond
419 Hammersmith – Richmond
R68 Bushy Park and Richmond

Specific Northside buses are...
33 Hammersmith – Richmond
337 Richmond – Clapham Junction
485 Richmond – Wandsworth

By Train:
There are three stations surrounding the park and these are Richmond, Mortlake and Barnes. The closest station to the start and race HQ is Mortlake and it is then a 20 minute walk from the station to the park.

A fantastic course. It was my first 5k race and I was really surprised at how easy it was to register. It was also easy to follow as there were wardens along the route to show you where to go and markers at each kilometre. They also clapped and cheered you on when you passed them which really spurs you on! It was a challenge as there was uphill. Richmond Park is a fab location as it’s lovely and we even saw some deer and stag on the run! Totally fab! Wendy
