Ultra X Madeira (110km, 60km, 50km)

Ultra X Madeira is an event that takes place in and around Madeira. Madeira is an autonomous Portuguese island and the largest and most populous of the Madeira Archipelago (Porto Santo and the Desertas being the others). It offers three races: 110km two stage event and a 60km and 50km single stage event.

The island is an oasis of green, with incredible natural pools carved out of lava rocks, gorgeous cliffs overlooking the North Atlantic Ocean and charming towns. It is located in a region known as Macaronesia, just under 400 kilometres to the north of the Canary Islands and 520 kilometres west of the Kingdom of Morocco.

Taking part in mid November, the climate conditions for the race should be temperate, with lows of around 9°C and highs of 21°C.

Friday 1st November
We advise Ultra X 110 Madeira participants to arrive at Funchal Airport on or before 1400, Friday 1st November. Race check-in will be taking place in Machico between 15:00 – 21:00 the same day. You must complete check-in where you will collect your bib and tracker.

Saturday 2nd November
We advise Ultra X 50 Madeira participants to arrive at Funchal Airport on or before 1400, Saturday 2nd November. Race check in will take place in Machico between 16:00-20:00 the same day.
The first stage starts at 05:00 outside the Forum Machico in Machico – a 5 minute walk from Machico centre.
Race holdalls (max 9kg) will be dropped at the start line in the morning before the race starts. These should contain everything you would like at camp that night. They will be waiting for you at the stage finish line.

Sunday 3rd November
The second stage of Ultra X 110 Madeira begins at the Estadio dos
Juncos at 07:00 (this is also the same start time for the Ultra X 50 Madeira runners). Again, your race holdall bag will be handed in before the start and available to collect at the finish line.
There will be shuttle transport available from Machico departing at 05:00 to the start line for Ultra X 50 Madeira runners too. Your race holdall bags (9kg) will be handed in before the start and available to collect at the finish line.

All participants will finish at Forum Machico on the waterfront in Machico where the finish line celebrations will be occurring.
