Organiser's Description

The Banana Triathlon is in the middle of our three event series, welcoming triathletes to Dorney Lake every summer. What makes Banana Tri special is the huge array of distances on offer, ensuring there is a top quality multi-sport challenge for people of all ages and abilities. Banana has earned a superb reputation over a number of years, with thousands of people choosing this event to complete their first triathlon, or secure a personal best time.

The series is organised by Human Race who have over 30 years of experience in putting on high quality, enjoyable, and safe triathlon events.

Course Details

Dorney Lake in Eton, just to the west of London is the ideal setting for triathlon. The 2012 London Olympic venue attracts thousands of triathletes a year with it’s clear, calm, clean water to swim in and flat, car-free bike and run course.

You have the choice of six different multisport options, meaning there is something for everyone from triathlon experts to cautious first timers. Duathlon and relay options give those not keen on all three disciplines the opportunity to join in the Banana Tri fun too. Plus our popular scootathlon is a great way for children to get a taste of the action on the same day as you

How to Get There

BY ROAD
Dorney Lake’s nearest post code is SL4 6FJ. Exit the M4 motorway at Junction 6 if travelling from London or Junction 8/9 if approaching from West. Follow the A4 towards Taplow, turn onto B3026, signposted for Dorney and Eton at the roundabout by Sainsbury's. Pass back over the M4 entering village of Dorney, on sharp left-hand bend, turn right signposted Dorney Reach. After 400m enter Dorney Lake site through large double white gates. Follow perimeter road to left.

BY TRAIN
Main stations for the lake are Slough and Windsor & Eton Riverside. It is also near Burnham, Taplow and Maidenhead.

BY FOOT/BIKE
Please note that the ONLY access to the lake is via the main gate as above.

Note: We suggest using Google Maps or Waze to stay abreast of the latest road closures and traffic information.

Parking

Please leave plenty of time to get to the venue. Please arrive on site MORE than an hour and a half prior to your wave start time.
Car parking will be at the side of the bike course. The only access will be via the MAIN access road. Just follow the signs as you come into the venue. You will have at least a 20-minute walk to the race site, so allow yourself extra time after you have parked your car. PLEASE KEEP OFF THE BIKE COURSE and do not cross any roped-off areas. Arrival and departure is possible any time.

Please note: Car parking is only permitted in the designated parking areas within the rowing lake grounds. PLEASE do not park in the roads around the venue or the Boveney Lock car park.
