Bath Skyline Races - Day

Sun 15th November 2026

A runner in athletic gear leaps over a small hurdle during an outdoor race, with a historic castle and leafless trees in the background. Several other participants can be seen running along the path. The sky is cloudy, and the scene appears dynamic and energetic. A black and white dog with muddy legs runs in the grass, tongue out, while a smiling person in athletic clothes and a cap jogs behind, holding the dog’s leash. A woman in a blue shirt and black leggings, wearing a race bib, runs and smiles in front of an old stone building on a grassy field. Four runners race on a muddy trail in a forested area. The lead runner wears a blue shirt and red shoes, followed closely by three others. The path is wet with puddles, and the group appears focused and determined. Two women with race bibs are joyfully jumping mid-air on a trail, with arms raised and big smiles, in an outdoor grassy area under a cloudy sky. A man in blue runs a race with a Dalmatian on a leash, while other people and dogs follow on a wooded trail. The ground is covered with leaves and the runners wear race numbers.

I took part in the night run and I would urge caution. Consider carefully taking part if it has been raining. Incredibly slippery and muddy underfoot and there were plenty of spills. If you want to take part then enter the daytime run. This wasn’t what I anticipated and I accept I should have researched it better. I completed the event but there were quite a few who didn’t. The finishing times were logged manually about 25 metres beyond the finishing line so keep running.

My first 10k! Tough, muddy, picturesque! I may have been last but it was a brilliant experience! Big thanks to Terri, the sweep, who made sure I finished! Get off the couch and do it!

Everything was well organised - the pre-race admin, car parking, facilities at the start/finish area, race briefing, marshalling, course marking, post-race goodies and a nice medal! My only slight gripe is that, according to my Garmin watch, the 10K course measured 9.69K, so it didn't actually register as a 10K run! But overall, it was a good experience, and an enjoyable challenge.
