A combination of moorland tracks, trails, riverside meanderings, wooded glades, green lanes with approximately 20% tarmac

There are 6 indoor, manned checkpoints (Aid Stations) offering hot food and refreshments on the Dartmoor Way 100 and 3 checkpoints on the Dartmoor Way 50. Checkpoints as follows :-

6 Fully stocked Indoor Aid Stations for the 100, 3 for the 50, managed by the OuterEdge Crew and local running clubs.

Bus transport is available to purchase for the GRANITE 50 runners, from the Finish in Okehampton to the Start of the 50 in Scorriton.

GPX files and maps can be downloaded from the website.

Each runner will be issued with a tracking device.

THE FULL CIRCLE 100

Friday 2nd – Saturday 3rd October 2026

The DARTMOOR FULL CIRCLE 100 was the first complete circumnavigation of Dartmoor ever to have taken place as an official race event. The Race follows the freshly waymarked Dartmoor Way walking route.

The Route skirts the periphery of the whole of the northern and southern sections of the Moor, taking in many wild and ancient tracks and trails. The route also includes the more well-known landmarks, and many of the idyllic moorland villages, following woodland and riverside trails, green lanes and quiet country lanes.

The Race is a continuous non-stop event. Competitors must visit the 6 indoor checkpoints to complete the event successfully.

Checkpoints are generally village halls, where you will be well fed, watered, and encouraged onwards by our fantastic team of OuterEdge crew members.. always enthusiastic and exceptionally knowledgeable. As they are all runners themselves they know the craic..

34 Hours is the maximum time allowed to complete the race. It may seem generous, but don’t be fooled, there is over 4000m of ascent to contend with, over sometimes rocky, tussocky, boggy, typical Dartmoor terrain. The event is taking place in Autumn and as such the weather can be unpredictable with cold and rain quite usual. The conditions can be harsh at times, and there will be a night section to contend with. We expect the first runners to be back in Okehampton in around 22-24 hours, but most runners will take 26-32 hours to complete the race.

The Event starts at Midday on Friday 2nd October from the OCRA Pavilion in the Park, Mill Road, Okehampton, Devon, EX20 1GE (Event HQ)

The DARTMOOR FULL CIRCLE 100 requires competitors to be physically fit with ultra distance running experience and with the ability to navigate maps, GPS, GPX files or a combination of all of these.

Competitors will be monitored throughout the event using GPS tracking devices. This is a safety requirement but also allows friends and family to view their progress online throughout the race.

SATURDAY 3rd OCTOBER 2026

A 50-mile race to complement the DARTMOOR FULL CIRCLE 100 event. The GRANITE 50 skirts the eastern section of the Moor and crosses several sections of open moorland.

The race begins in Scoriton on the High Moorland link section, in the South of the moor. From here it follows the waymarked trail south and then in a gradually Northern direction towards Bovey Tracey, Manaton, Moretonhampstead, Chagford and onto the finish in Okehampton.

The DARTMOOR GRANITE 50, is a tough challenge. It’s 51 miles and although just over half the distance of the 100, it’s a serious undertaking. The GRANITE 50 is not an easy race at all.. Its’s not a walk in the park. It’s a long run in the Dartmoor National Park..! It is the equivalent of running two marathons, over sometimes quite rugged terrain in parts and with over 2000 metres of ascent. Experience of running trail marathons is a minimum requirement for this event.

Race Start time of 7am on Saturday 3rd October from Scoriton in the South of the Moor. There is a maximum time allowance of 15 hours.

Bus transport is available from the OCRA finish, to the start of the race at Scoriton, in the extreme south of the Moor.

Over 2000m of ascent with 3 full indoor checkpoints offering hot food and refreshments plus an additional water stop.

Free Parking Changing and shower facilities on-site at the OCRA Pavilion, Okehampton – Event HQ.

Bus Transport available from OCRA Pavilion to the Scoriton start available to purchase at checkout.

Hot Food and drinks available to purchase pre and post-race from the on-site kitchen.

The Dartmoor Way FULL CIRCLE 100 starts at Midday on Friday 2nd October 2026 from the OCRA Pavilion in the Park, Okehampton, and competitors have a maximum of 34 hours to complete the race (10pm Saturday 3rd October is the final finish time).

The event will be fully supported. Food and drink will be available at 6 indoor checkpoints on route. At registration you will be given your race number and gps tracker. You will also be able to hand in a drop bag to be transported to a midway checkpoint. You must make sure your name and bib number are clearly written on the bag. Only small bags of 10 litre capacity will be allowed. Bags will be transported back to the Event Centre for your collection at the finish.

The DARTMOOR GRANITE 50 starts from Scoriton in the South of the Moor on a section of the High Moorland link. Start-time is 7am on Saturday 3rd October. There is a 15 hour time limit.

The event will be fully supported with 3 checkpoints and an additonal water stop.

Backpack to carry all necessary items:
Full waterproof body cover, to include waterproof jacket and over-trousers both with taped seams. Windproof jackets are not acceptable.
Spare long sleeve base layer to be carried in case of emergency, stored in a watertight bag. Not to be worn during the event.
Emergency foil blanket.
Headtorch plus spare batteries.
Warm hat or buff.
Gloves.
Capacity to carry a minimum of 1 litre of fluid either in bottles or bladder.
Emergency food minimum 500 calories.
