Eastnor Castle Mud Bath

Sun 7th October 2018

A group of muddy and smiling runners cross the finish line of an outdoor race under a red "FINISH" banner. They appear excited and victorious, holding hands and raising arms in celebration. The background includes trees and the clear sky overhead.

Organiser's Description

Eastnor Castle is the home of the Land Rover test centre; 60 miles of trails wind through the deer park and woodland and put vehicles and drivers through the toughest of paces. These man-made trenches and troughs exaggerate the natural terrain to give a year round muddy experience, and maintained with additional water, they will be just as lovely in the Summer as in the Winter! We will be making the most of the terrain as it lies, picking the muddiest trails the Estate has to offer. There will be a few natural obstacles - fallen trees to navigate, gullies to cross, and of course, lots of mud! 3 distance options.

Another fantastic experience, a few years ago i took part in both 6k and 10k mud runs, this year I brought my granddaughter with me, she was a bit unenthusiastic but since taking part she wants to do another 1 so I think it was an all round success. My sister also took part with us and she has said she will do it again maybe get our other sister to join 😁 would definitely recommend anyone to try it at least once, we laughed most of the way round very therapeutic. We didnt run though but enjoyed it just as much. Thank you all for another wonderful experience.

Great event well organised. My niece and I thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend. Plenty of mud on the way round, although we would have both liked a bit more before the end of the race, we didn’t want it to end!

1.5k with a four year old. So lovely to runaround the lake and castle. Left the muddy swamp until the end which was ideal with a child. We made lots of new friends on the way around. 6k - lots of hills and mud, absolute challenge to get through the sticky mud. Felt amazing for completing. Will have to try the 10k next year!
