Simplyhealth Junior & Mini Great Tees Run

Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough

Riverside Road, Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough, UK

Sat 7th September 2019

Starting at 13:00

Organiser's Description

Get the kids involved and sign them up for the Simplyhealth Junior and Mini Great Tees Run. The runs, which are open to budding runners aged 3-14, give children the chance to experience their own finish line moment and wear their medals with pride after finishing the 2k or 4k route.

Both runs start and finish on Riverside Road in Stockton-on-Tees. The young runners will travel along the North side of the River Tees; the Mini runners then turn right to cross the Infinity Bridge and Junior runners contine on and across the River at the Tees Barrage. Both runs then return along the River’s South side, crossing the Millennium Footbridge, and back to the finish.

How To Get There

The town is served by two main arterial roads: the transpennine A66 (East/West) and the A19 (North/South).

A number of bus services operate in Stockton and most services pass through High Street. The services cover large areas of the region including Middlesbrough, Teesside Park, Thornaby, Billingham, Sedgefield, Durham, Sunderland, Peterlee and Newcastle upon Tyne. Among the companies operating bus services, Stagecoach on Teesside and Arriva North East are the major providers, while six minor providers also operate in the area.[15]

Stockton railway station serves the town, but more regular and distant services are operated from nearby Thornaby.

Durham Tees Valley Airport is several miles West of the town. The airport offers domestic and international flights.

Parking

There are a number of free and pay car parks in the local area, including council managed car parks and those at Castlegate Shopping Centre and Wellington Square.
