A long driveway leads to the entrance, and the estate is set amidst a scenic, expansive landscape. Two people running on a forest trail with sunlight streaming through the trees. One runner in the foreground wearing a purple and blue shirt and black shorts; the other is further down the trail, partially obscured by the trees. The scene is tranquil and sunlit. Aerial view of a historic estate featuring a grand manor with numerous windows, extensive well-maintained lawns, and gardens. Surrounding the main building are additional structures and stone walls, all surrounded by green trees and a sprawling landscape under a clear sky. Two runners in vibrant athletic gear jog through a wooded trail, holding up their hands with excited expressions. They have race bibs numbered 53 and 87. The background features tall trees and foliage, suggesting it's a fun run or race in a forest setting. A grand, symmetrical Elizabethan mansion with large windows and ornate decorations stands against a clear blue sky. The extensive, well-manicured lawn in front has a few people walking and admiring the architecture. Colorful flowers line a pathway to the left. A group of people run along a trail through a forest. Tall trees with straight trunks line the path and the sun casts warm, golden light through the foliage, creating a peaceful atmosphere. The ground is covered with ferns and leaves. The runners wear athletic clothing. A person wearing a "Rasselbock Running" shirt and bib number 127 smiles while standing beside a table displaying medals in a forested area. In the background, trees and a green "Rasselbock Running" banner are visible. A decorative pendant featuring a portrait of a historical woman in regal attire, holding a scepter. The ornate frame has intricate golden details, and the background appears blurred.

Organiser's Description

The Hardwick Hobble is a six-hour challenge on a looped course around the amazing National Trust Heritage site at Hardwick Hall.

You may attempt to complete as many laps as possible over the full six hours, or you may choose to finish just one, the choice is yours and you don't have to decide how far you're running until you're running! The course will take you around the stunning grounds of the Hardwick Estate, from the ponds and farmlands to past the house itself.

The route is still being finalized but should be around 6.25km long, so 4 laps is a Half Marathon, 7 laps a marathon, 8 laps or more will class as an Ultra.

At Rasselbock we like to put on events how we'd like to have them. No stress, pressure, a great bunch of runners, and a small entry pool so everyone can meet each other. You can decide on the day how far you'd like to run so there are no worries if you're having a "bad running day". Just complete one lap of the event and you're classed as a finished.

Great event, everything about it was ticking all the boxes, the route was fantastic, amazing food station, friendly organizers and Marshalls across the route cheering for you. Medal quality are far the best I have, given I'm a road runner and this is a first trail run receiving many medals finishers made out of non-decent materials. Overall I'm happy, and this experience would definetley encourage me to run trail events again in the near future.
