Unfortunately, we do not allow under 12s to participate in any live event. If you are between the ages of 12 and 18 then we will need a parent or guardian to contact us before signing up so that we can advise them on how to register your place. Even though we are not a part of the UKA we still abide by their rules which means that the following ages are limited to the following distances. What is a Backyard Ultra

The BYU premise is simple: the event has no fixed length in time or distance, you just have to run the same 4.161-mile loop every hour and you run until you cant run anymore. The winner is found when they are the last runner standing. The event may last 10 hours or it may last 80 hours, you just never know what will happen in a Backyard Ultra. This event will be a 6 hour version for runners to test out the format on a budget.

Will there be first aid at this event?

We will have a dedicated first aid team at this event and will have a fully stocked first aid kit. All Rasselbock staff are first aid trained.

Organiser's Description

We’re thrilled to be coming along to Temple Newsam in the new year for a unique Backyarding experience. Take on an hourly 6.7km loop and see if you are still standing after six hours. From the bubbling hub at the top of the hill down into the woodlands and undergrowth of the site grounds.

If you’re interested in Backyarding but concerned about the entry fee, this experience will be priced at the same rate as one of our usual 6 hour events. A backyarding experience for everyone. We’ve also got some tricks up our sleeves that could really elevate this event, but more on that to come.

View this as a spiritual successor to ‘The Backyard Mini’.
