Course Details

The Upton Course: Fast, Scenic & PB-Ready
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Worcestershire countryside, the Upton Multisport course is designed to give you a fast, smooth, and unforgettable race day. Whether you are chasing a personal best or taking on your very first multi-sport event, this course delivers a perfect balance of performance and scenery.

🏊‍♂️ The Swim: Downstream on the River Severn
Distance: 750m (Sprint) / 1,500m (Standard)

The Vibe: Clean, wide, and remarkably beginner-friendly.

The Detail: Taking place in the iconic River Severn, the swim course runs downstream, giving athletes a natural, smooth current to pull them through. With clear, BTF-tested waters, easy-access entry and exit ramps, and outstanding bank-side visibility for cheering spectators, it sets the tone for a high-energy race. The river water is tested in line with B.T.F guidance. If the river is not safe to swim in, the race will become a duathlon (i.e. run/bike/run). There will always be a risk of illness when swimming in open water. To minimise the risk competitors should wash hands before eating or drinking anything (including after handling your wetsuit), aim to swim away from the edges where the flow is greater and water quality better, ensure any wounds are covered with a waterproof dressing and try to avoid drinking any river water.

🚴‍♀️ The Bike: Flat, Sweeping & Country Roads
Distance: 21km (Sprint - 1 Lap) / 42km (Standard - 2 Laps)

The Vibe: A true PB-chaser's dream.

The Detail: Head out from Fish Meadow onto wide, low-traffic countryside roads winding through the picturesque villages of Earls Croome and Severn Stoke. With just 57m of elevation per lap, this route is remarkably flat and fast. Smooth tarmac surfaces and sweeping bends allow you to lock into your aero tuck and hold high speed with total confidence.

🏃‍♂️ The Run: Flat Riverside Laps & Big Finish
Distance: 2.5km / 5km (Sprint) / 10km (Standard)

The Vibe: Traffic-free, spectator-packed, and completely flat.

The Detail: A flat multi-terrain loop wrapping along the banks of the River Severn and through private farm tracks. Combining ~2km of tarmac, 2km of fast gravel track, and a grassy lakeside finish, it gives your legs a smooth ride with zero steep climbs to worry about. Best of all, the multi-lap layout keeps you right next to the electric atmosphere of the race village, driving you home toward a huge finish-line crowd!

The Bottom Line: A downstream river swim, a lightning-fast bike leg, and a dead-flat run—if you are looking to set a blisteringly quick time this summer, Upton is built for speed.

How to Get There

By road from the North
M5 Junction 7, A44 Worcester to next roundabout, then left & follow Worcester West to 2nd roundabout, left A38 to Tewkesbury for seven miles, turn right onto the A4104 to Upton and follow signs to the triathlon.


By road from the South
M5 Junction 8, M50 to Junction 1, follow A38 Malvern, then at roundabouts follow A38 Worcester (A4104 Malvern), after 3 miles turn left onto the A4104 to Upton and follow signs to the triathlon.

Parking

Car parking will be signposted off the A4104.
Free - Large car parking on site. (May include timed entry and exit points due to event being live)

Camping and caravanning facilities will be available onsite on Fish Meadow, including hot showers and washbasins, water, toilets and refuse points. (No electricity points).

This will be available on Friday and Saturday nights only for £12 per person (regardless of number of nights). Children under 12 are free. Please book in advance.
