Royal Borough of Kingston Spring Raceday
Following its highly successful 2019 debut, the Kingston Spring Raceday returns in 2020, with a new 20 mile distance added by popular demand to the 8 mile and 16 mile races.
The 8 mile runners will complete one lap of the famous “Kingston Loop”, the 16 and 20 milers will complete it twice, with the 20 mile course following the river out to North Kingston for a final 4 miles. All races start and finish in Kingston’s Ancient Market Place.
The longer races are ideally placed for marathon training, falling just 4 weeks before the London Marathon and 3 weeks prior to Brighton. The 8 mile is a great introduction to racing over long distances, or for those who haven’t been training heavily over the Winter, or are recovering from injury.

This fast, flat course on good running surfaces gives excellent opportunities for a quick time and potential PB! The courses are being officially measured and we will publish the exact distances. Both races are also being chip timed.
Starting in the famous Ancient Market Place, runners will cross over Kingston Bridge and head up the iconic three mile stretch of the Barge Walk beside the Thames. The race then reaches the magnificent Hampton Court Palace before continuing through Thames Ditton and back towards Kingston Market Place, which is the finish for all distances.
