Radar Ride

Wanlockhead, Dumfries and Galloway

Burnside Cottage, Wanlockhead, Biggar ML12 6UZ, UK

Sun 22nd May 2016

Organiser's Description

In 2008, the Radar Ride broke the mould: riding on the highest road in Scotland it delivered the first summit finish in UK - a spectacular 9 mile climb to the radar station at the top of Lowther Hill, in the glorious southern uplands. Now, after a 6-year absence, the UK's original summit sportive is back. Competitors will arrive in Wanlockhead - the most remote and highest 'village depart' on the UK calendar - to take on one of three routes; 40, 70 or 105 miles. All options include the 6 mile climb of the Dalveen Pass and the long haul to the summit. The 105 mile route also features the Devil's Beeftub, above Moffat, and the fearsome 20% slopes of the iconic 'Wall of Talla'.
