Achill Half, Full and Ultra Marathons

Achill Island, County Mayo

Unnamed Road, Co. Mayo, Ireland

Sat 29th August 2015

Organiser's Description

The route will begin at the Hy Breasal on St Fionnans Road, Achill Sound, then follow lonely roads through the villages of Shraheens, Derreens and Cloghmore and on to the spectacular 'Atlantic Drive', overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the islands of Clare and Achill Beg - some of the most stunning and rugged coastline this beautiful island has to offer. This is a challenging route with plenty of elevation gain, but don't be put off - most will agree that the scenery is equally as breathtaking as the climb! Half marathon runners will run the 13.1 mile loop once, marathon runners will run it twice, ultra marathoners will run three loops.
