Dock2Dock London Swim
Love Sports Events are proud to work with Love Open Water London Royal Docks to once again host this iconic swim race in the heart of London for the 5th consecutive year. These unique and historic waters offer an unforgettable opportunity to compete in open water in the heart of the vibrant East End. Whether you are looking to enter your first open water event or take on the ultimate swimmers’ challenge, the Dock2Dock offers a range of distances to suit all abilities.
The 5k & 10k events both start in Royal Victoria Dock and the course will take you east towards London City Airport and into Royal Albert Dock to the turnaround before heading back west, past the imposing historic cranes lining the dock. 5k swimmers will complete 1 lap of the this course and the 10k swimmers will complete it twice.
The 1.5k event will take place in Royal Victoria Dock on a one loop course.
The Dock2Dock Race will operate using the NOWCA safety system offering all competitors a safe and enjoyable race. Please be aware that this is a challenging event and is not suitable for swimmers without some open water training.
The Crystal building
Your fee includes entry to the race, swim cap, safety on course, race timing, on course nutrition (for 5k & 10k distances), post race snack and refreshments, a finishers pack and free event photo.
Your safety in the water is our number one priority and this event will be run under NOWCA safety guidelines. All competitors must have a valid NOWCA safety wristband and wear this on the day.
If you competed in the 2019 event or regularly swim at a NOWCA venue then you will already have a wristband and just need to check that it is valid on the day of the event. (ie. you’ve paid your yearly fee of £12)
If you do not already have a band, you must purchase one by creating an account here. You can select a NOWCA venue near you to collect your band. If you wish to collect on the day, be sure to choose LONDON ROYAL DOCKS as your pick-up location. The earlier you get your wristband, the sooner you can join a session at a NOWCA venue around the country (It will also make your race morning a bit easier!)
Please note, completing your registration will NOT automatically register you for a wristband. This must be done by following the instructions above.
YOU MUST PURCHASE YOUR NOWCA SAFETY WRISTBAND NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY 9TH SEPTEMBER, 2020
You will not be able to compete without a valid NOWCA wristband.
It is a condition of entry that all swimmers in the 5k & 10k event use a tow float. Tow floats are optional for those swimming in the 1.5k event, other than the 12-16 age category.
You may use your own tow float if you have one or purchase one when you complete your race entry. We would advise you to train with the tow float before the race. London based swimmers will be able to collect their purchased tow floats at Love Open Water London Royal Docks during regular swim sessions. Check out the website for session times
If you order a tow float but aren’t able to collect it prior to race day, these will be available for collection on race morning.
Wetsuits are OPTIONAL in all distances other than the 12-16 category in the 1.5k event. Junior swimmers in the 1.5k event must wear a wetsuit and use a tow float.
