5-stars this year. Even better than last year – the organisation is great, the staff are friendly and helpful, the route was better (no long bottle-neck at the start, very well marked, etc.), and the briefings were loud and clear (plus info was available on signs/maps if you missed anything). Registration was quick and easy. Also there were changing rooms and plenty of loos. I had a really good day.

2019 Dorset Marathon. Absolutely incredible route, organisation and enthusiasm. I was so utterly nervous, it was my first race and what a race to start on, brutal but brilliant!

Good fun despite the mud. I did the 10k in 2018 – my first race since competing in x-country as a child. The conditions were terrible (lashing rain, high winds, and so much mud), but the organisers had amended the route to keep runners safe (i.e. away from cliff edges). Everything seemed well planned, and there was a good sense of comradery amongst competitors. My only niggle was that with the route being narrow and uphill right at the start, all the folk choosing to walk it forced everyone to walk – that was frustrating; but perhaps it's normal, and it wasn't important overall. Otherwise, good fun all round. Looking forward to taking part again this year. :-)

A well organised and attemded event- But those hills. A great event, ran the ultra distance in 2018. It is very hilly (the first 10 miles lulls you into a false sense of security), and some are really steep (both up and down). Much harder than the mileage suggests. Muddy trails which can be very slippy and thick mud in rain and some are quite banked. Important to realise the distances are for experienced runners- no PBs or even close. Great achievement once done.
