Join us for the exhilarating Hare Challenge Day 1 on Saturday, January 17th, 2026, hosted by Running Events Devon in the picturesque town of Okehampton, Devon. This exciting event invites runners and walkers of all abilities to take on our scenic 5.3k out-and-back course along an old disused train line. With two start times available—an 8:30 AM start with a generous 7-hour cut-off and a 10:30 AM start with a 5-hour cut-off—there's plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings while challenging yourself to see how many laps you can complete.
Whether you're aiming for one lap or pushing for the full 14 laps, every participant will be celebrated as a finisher and receive a medal for their achievements. With limited places available, be sure to secure your spot early! And if you're looking for accommodation, the nearby Fox & Hounds offers cozy rooms, a bunkhouse, and camping options, along with delicious food. Running Events Devon would like to invite you to come and run with us.
At our new venue, the Hare challenge Day 1 event is being held on the Saturday 17th January 2026
We still have our 2 start times an 8:30 start with a 7 hour cut off, and a 10:30 start with a 5 hour cut off.
Absolutely all abilities of runners / walkers can take part in our events as you have 7 hours to get to the finish of your final lap, each lap is 5.3k out and back, of our scenic route on an old disused train line.
Everyone is welcome whether you are planning to walk or run, whether you finish 1 lap, 4 laps or even 14 laps in the permitted time, we would class you as finisher and a winner, and you can collect your Medal for the event.
Please come and have a try and see how far you can go.
Places are strictly limited so please do not leave it too late to enter, if and when we reach capacity anyone entering after, will get a bespoke medal of their choice of the ones that we have with us on that day.
