Organiser's Description
The hoohaah Barr Ellison 10k at Childerley is the second in our series of four 10k races which can be entered as a standalone event or as part of the series. Completion of 3 of the 4 races in the series entitles you to a free hoohaah hoodie!
Course Details
The hoohaah Barr Ellison 10k at Childerley is a single lap, traffic free route running through the beautiful and privately owned Childerley Estate located just outside Cambridge. It is a multi-terrain course which includes stretches of footpaths, woodland and meadows. The Childerley Estate is nestled in rolling countryside and some moderate hills form part of the course.
We would suggest road trainers, but depending on the weather before the event, you may want to bring trail shoes if you have them but they are not essential.

things to note
Dogs allowed?
While we love dogs and have them ourselves we do not allow runners to run with their dog.
Wheelchair suitable?
The terrain is not suitable for buggies.
Buggies allowed?
The terrain is not suitable for buggies.
Headphones
In line with England Athletics guidelines, the use of head/earphones is strictly prohibited as you will not be able to hear marshals’ safety instructions or other warnings. However, we will allow bone conduction headphones. Sections of the course are also fairly narrow and you could be a danger to yourself and other runners if you fail to hear them approaching to overtake. The wearing of head/earphones will lead to disqualification.
charity partners
hoohaah 2022 events are raising funds for the fantastic charity Power2Inspire whose aim is to see a society where everyone can enjoy inclusive sport together and who deliver sporting events for everyone to enjoy regardless of age, gender, faith, ethnicity or disability.
Along with making donations at the registration stage, we would ask competitors to try to obtain sponsorship for their run. A suggested minimum figure to raise would be £25. However, sponsorship is entirely voluntary and is not a pre-requisite for entry to the run.
In addition we will be collecting food donations for Cambridge City Foodbank at each of our events. We will publish a ‘shopping list’ of food that is needed, as provided to us via the charity, just before each run. Donations are gratefully received but please donate items from the shopping list only.
