Lahti is the gateway to the Finnish Lake District, located less than an hour from Helsinki. It's known for its vibrant urban city culture with many bars, restaurants and cafes in which to enjoy the unique lakeside social life. IRONMAN 70.3 Finland has become a firm favourite in the triathlon calendar, and with a unique start time of 3:30 p.m., this race features a finish under the spellbinding nordic midnight sun.
The swim will take place in lake Vesijärvi at Passenger Harbor and around Sibelius Hall. It consists of one loop in this clear Finnish lake. The bike leg leads athletes through very typical Finnish landscapes: forests, lakesides, and rolling hills. The bike course is relatively fast without any challenging ascents. The run will be very flat on asphalt and gravel surface, and leads all athletes along the lakeside.
