Organiser's Description

The AJ Bell World Triathlon Leeds returns to the City for a fourth time in 2019, representing the pinnacle of triathlon competition in the UK and providing more than 5,000 recreational triathletes with the unique opportunity to compete on much of the same course as the World’s best. Following in the footsteps of the unforgettable 2014 Tour de France Grand Départ in Leeds, 2018's event saw in excess of 70,000 spectators line the streets as the World's best were roared home by a huge and passionate Leeds crowd.

2019’s event will see both the amateurs and elite – including many of Team GB's aspiring Tokyo 2020 Olympians, once again head back to Leeds for what is set to be an unforgettable event on the triathlon calendar. Standard, sprint, GoTri and relay events. 8/9 June.

What kit do I need on the day?

For course entry and registration:

  • Confirmation email and race number
  • Photo ID


For the Triathlon:

  • Wetsuit
  • Goggles
  • Towel
  • Bicycle - With your race number affixed
  • Bicycle Helmet -With your race number affixed
  • Bicycle shoes
  • Bike water bottle (There are no water points in the bike course)
  • Running shoes
  • Timing Chip - provided at registration and to be worn on your left ankle


How do I find out my start time?

The race organisers will email you with your start time shortly before the day of the event.

What does entry to the Leeds Triathlon include?

Your entry includes participation on the day, online results, swimming cap, race day drinks, finishers medal, goodie bag and your timing chip.

Can I use headphones for music during the triathlon?

To ensure the safety of all competitors during the cycle and running legs of the triathlon headphone use is not permitted. This is so that all entrants can hear each other as well as any instructions from course safety marshall.

Are wetsuits mandatory for the triathlon?

Wetsuits must be worn during the swimming leg of triathlon unless the water temperature is higher than 22 degrees on the morning of the event. This will be confirmed on the day, however, it is quite unlikely!

When can I find out my finish time?

The official event website will make results available on the day with results also displayed live on screens at the event.
