Jubilee River Swim

Sun 5th September 2021

A serene riverside scene featuring a wooden bridge spanning across a calm river. The foreground is filled with lush grass and wildflowers. Trees and bushes line the riverbanks under a partly cloudy sky. Three swimmers wearing pink caps and wetsuits swim in a river towards a small waterfall. Tall grass grows on the riverbank to the left, and the waterfall creates turbulent water in the background. Two smiling swimmers in black wetsuits and orange swim caps float in open water. Each has an orange buoy attached. One swimmer waves at the camera while the other person smiles widely. They both wear white-rimmed goggles, and water plants are visible in the foreground. A group of swimmers in wetsuits and orange swim caps are participating in an open water race, creating splashes as they move through the water. The action takes place in a large body of water under natural light. A person wearing a black and red wetsuit and a pink swim cap stands outdoors with arms raised and mouth open, appearing joyful. They are wearing sunglasses and are surrounded by green foliage near a body of water.

Organiser's Description

The Jubilee River is a man made flood relief channel cutting the corner off the River Thames between Boulters Lock near Maidenhead and Pococks Lane in Eton, and the distance in between is 10km! Along the length of the Jubilee River there are three weirs that swimmers must avoid, so, getting out to go around the weirs means you'll only need to swim 9.5k! The weirs make the perfect place for our fabulous feed stations along the way and break up the course nicely into four segments, making up a relay event. Solo or team entry.
