Join My Sporting Times for the exciting Jubilee River Swim on Sunday 5th September 2021 in Windsor, Windsor and Maidenhead. Swimmers will tackle the 10km man-made flood relief channel, the Jubilee River, which features three weirs that add an extra challenge to the race. With the weirs acting as perfect feed stations, the event is divided into four segments, making it ideal for solo or team relay participants. Organiser's Description

The Jubilee River is a man made flood relief channel cutting the corner off the River Thames between Boulters Lock near Maidenhead and Pococks Lane in Eton, and the distance in between is 10km! Along the length of the Jubilee River there are three weirs that swimmers must avoid, so, getting out to go around the weirs means you'll only need to swim 9.5k! The weirs make the perfect place for our fabulous feed stations along the way and break up the course nicely into four segments, making up a relay event. Solo or team entry.

FAQs

  • Do I need to wear a Wetsuit?

    No, you can swim the event without a wetsuit. When you enter online you will be asked to chose Skins (non wetsuit) or Wetsuit. If you change your mind before the event, please inform us no later than 27 August 2021.

  • What will the River temperature be?

    Over the years the water temperature has ranged from 14.4 degrees to 17.8 degrees. We aim to give an update on the water temperature a week before the event.

  • is there a Cut-off time?

    Yes, there is a swim cut-off time of 5 hours and 30 minutes. Whilst we will do our best to accommodate swimmers who are close to this time, we reserve the right to request someone to exit the river if required.

  • What do I need?

    Your own food/drink supplies CLEARLY LABELLED for each feed station – we will transport this for you to each feed station from the registration area. A SMALL bag for any belongings you wish to travel in from registration to the swim start. Energy!

  • Is the event chip timed?

    Yes, and you will receive your result live as you cross the finish line. Relay team members will get their individual swim times.

Registration & Parking

Based on feedback from 2020, we are planning for registration and event parking to be at Thames Valley Athletics Centre, Pococks Lane Eton, Windsor, Berkshire SL4 6HN. From here you will then be bused to the Swim Start (15-20 minutes away) at Boulters Lock in Taplow – then it’s up to you to swim the 10km back to your car!

Waves

Swimmers will be started in waves based on the predicted swim time you submit at point of entry – please ensure these are as accurate as they can be possibly be.

If you would like to be in the same starting wave as friends, we will do our best to accommodate this for you dependent on your predicted swim times. In order to allow the organising team to confirm event plans in good time, please do so by 27 August at the latest.
