Organiser's Description

The UK’s greatest 2-day cycling weekend! An incredible 156.9-mile, 360° loop around London that showcases iconic city landmarks alongside the best country riding the South-East has to offer. We even put on a festival Basecamp at the midway point in Windsor for you to enjoy with your friends and family.

Want something extra challenging? Enter our ULTRA and attempt all 155 miles in one go. This is the equivalent of cycling Tower Bridge to Cardiff Bay!

THE WEEKENDER ROUTE

The weekender route starts by heading clockwise, south from Lee Valley Showground, you join the top section of the London 2012 Olympic Road Race route. Then you cycle through Central London along the Cycle Superhighway taking in the iconic sights – the London Eye, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.

After clearing the Capital, you are faced with the stunning climbs and descents of the North Downs before cycling west to Windsor Great Park. Here you can unwind and celebrate the day’s achievements at our Festival Basecamp.

Following a night’s rest, it is time to get back in the saddle for the slightly shorter day back via the Chiltern Hills and ancient Epping Forest. This challenging route is guaranteed to make it a weekend to remember!

One of the toughest one day cycle events in the UK, the ULTRA challenges you to conquer an entire loop around London in one day.

Setting off early Saturday morning from Lee Valley Showground, you will take in the famous London landmarks before leaving the urban cityscape behind you and venturing into the green fields and testing climbs of the North Wessex Downs. Once through Windsor, it is onto the Chilterns to conquer more incredible countryside before winding your way back through Epping forest to celebrate your momentous achievement in a blaze of glory back at Lee Valley!

SOUTHERN STAGE From London to Windsor in one day of iconic landmarks and stunning countryside

Climbing: 4,419ft

Cycling south from Lee Valley, the route heads into Central London along the Cycle Superhighway. From here you will be treated to some of the most iconic London landmarks including the London Eye, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.

After leaving the Capital, the scenery suddenly changes as you tackle the stunning climbs and descents of the North Downs. Once these have been overcome, you cycle west to Windsor Racecourse where you will be greeted by the amazing sights and sounds of our famous Festival Basecamp!

NORTHERN STAGE From Windsor back to London and everything in between

Distance: 68.5 miles
Climbing: 3,139ft

As you leave the sights and sounds of the Windsor Basecamp behind, the rolling hills of The Chilterns open up in front of you. You head through idyllic local villages – including Marlow and Princes Risborough – before being treated to some of the very best countryside riding through sheltered woodland and along rolling hills.

The last leg of the stage ventures through the historic Epping Forest, then it’s a downhill dash back into London where a warm welcome and a cold beer awaits!
