With over 1000m of elevation gain, mostly run on trails and grass, this is a seriously challenging marathon. Run mainly on footpaths, bridleways and byways, the route has technical challenges with slippery descents on chalky tracks, and is likely to be muddy in places too - but runners are rewarded with stunning views across Hampshire to the Isle of Wight. Half marathon option.
