Designed with excitement in mind, the Muddy Madness course winds through the stunning grounds of Mojo Active in Almondsbury, featuring an array of challenging obstacles such as mud pits, tunnels, and ditches, along with exhilarating mud slides, leopard crawls, and water pits. For those opting for the shorter 2K course, suitable for adults and children aged 5 and up, there will be a fun section that includes an optional shallow stream and some muddy ditches.

Organiser's Description

The Mojo Active Muddy Madness is a family friendly 5K or 2k run through the beautiful grounds of Mojo Active in Almondsbury. The course features mud pits, tunnels, ditches mud slides, leopard crawls, water pits, tyre obstacles and straw bale climbs.
The shorter 2K course (for adults and children 5 years +) includes a short section through an optional shallow stream and some muddy ditches.

Christmas themed fancy dress is optional, there will be prizes for the best costumes in each wave.

Course Details

There will be two distances on the day:

5K course (for adults and children 7 years+) which features mud pits, tunnels, ditches mud slides, leopard crawls, water pits, tyre obstacles and straw bale climbs.

2K course (for adults and children 5 years +) which includes a short section through an optional shallow stream and some muddy ditches.

(All children under 13 years will need to be accompanied on the course by an adult with a maximum of 2 children per adult).

There will be marshals along each course cheering and encouraging you on. Spectators are very welcome and there will be additional activities on site.

*Climbing Wall - a free go for participants (ages 5yrs+): at 7m tall, our rock-climbing tower enables you to enjoy the realistic experience of an extreme sport. It has a range of handholds so you can tailor your climb from beginner to more challenging routes to the top. Up to four people can climb at the same time so it is great for competitions or just for fun.

*Archery - a free go for participants (ages 8+): Hold your nerve and go for gold at our purpose-built target archery facility. Whether this is your first time or you are regular competitors, our instructors will help you hone your skills and achieve pinpoint precision. During a session, our instructors will teach you the basics of archery and you will have ample opportunity to score that elusive bulls-eye!

How to Get There

We are located just 5 minutes from the M4/M5 interchange (J16 M5) or 2 minutes from J17 on the M5.

Parking

Plenty of free parking on the day at our coach park (BS32 4DQ) 450m away from the main Mojo entrance on Over lane (Easter Compton direction).

FAQs

  • Is this suitable for all ages ?

    Yes, running or walking is fine. The 5k is for adults and children aged 7 years and over, the 2k for adults and children aged 5 years and over.

  • Can we bring our dog?

    Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome but only to stay with spectators, dogs are not permitted on the course with runners

  • The weather

    Come rain or shine, the event will still take place. We only look to cancel if icy and will arrange another date, for which your ticket/s will be transferred. We will not be able to offer any refunds.

Mojo Active will be supporting local charity, The Brightwell in North Bristol. Their centre for neurological wellbeing & physical recovery is dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals living with chronic neurological conditions. They provide access to a warm and friendly, non-clinical environment that fosters independence, symptom management, and overall well-being.

They have members from the Greater Bristol area, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Bath, Wiltshire, South Wales and from all across the South West and the M4 corridor.
