Organiser's Description
Fast and flat mid distance road duathlon, a great way to shake down those Winter legs and kick start the race season off in the best way possible - sheer pleasure on a March Sunday. The out and back runs take you across a disused WW2 Airfield. The bike course heads out into Fenland territory, passing through the sleepy villages of Little Downham and Coveney. A quick course, but windy Fenland conditions are almost guaranteed!!
A great, well organised event. The Ely Duathlon in 2019 had probably the worst weather imaginable, with high winds, rain and lots of standing water on the course, but the event team managed it fantastically well with regular updates via Facebook leading up to the event and a large number of really good marshals and helpers during the event.
It went really smoothly, even with the terrible weather. I'd definitely suggest taking part in future years as it's a great event at the start of the season.
