Newport to Ryde postponed to 4th July, 11:00 race start
Unfortunately, due to overrunning works on key parts of the race route, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the race.
Race Date: Posponement Date 4th July 2026 – Start Time 11am.
Closing Date: 28th June 2026 at 23:59
Transfer Deadline Date: 30th June 2026 at 23:59
No Withdrawals after the specified Closing Date. (Refunds subject to policy below)

Numbers and timing chips will be issued at Registration on Race Day.
The race is operated under UKA Rules.
Runners not conforming to the rules will be disqualified, and their time will not appear in the results.
If you are unable to run. The following actions are available via the entry portal: Transfers to someone else, change race to any of our races that are open for entries (paying the difference), withdrawals and refunds subject to the refund policy. No deferrals.
Refund Policy: Up to 3months before 90%, up to 2weeks before 50%, less than 2weeks before 0%.
The official finish Time Limit is 1hours 45minutes (15min/mile pace). This is not a walking event. The cut off will be enforced at the race director’s discretion.

Registration opens from 09:30. Finish Venue: Ryde High School 6th Form Centre (apologies there are no shower facilities available) – Playstreet Lane, Ryde, PO33 3LF, ///stale.artist.class
Changing facilities are available at start.
Transport of runners kit from the start in Newport, to the finish at Ryde High School 6th Form Centre will be provided.
On street Pay & Display parking available at the start venue.
Limited free parking at the finish venue, free on street parking nearby.
Safety Note:
For safety reasons, the use of in-ear (or over ear) headphones is NOT permitted. In accordance with England athletics guidelines, bone conducting headphones are allowed
For safety reasons, runners are NOT permitted to run with dogs.

Medical information provided with your entry, will be supplied to the medical provider for use on race day. GDPR regulations will be followed.
Travel:
Suitable transport from Portsmouth Harbour is the 08:15 and 09:15 Wightlink Catamaran sailings.
Please check timetables before travelling: Wightlink, Hover Travel, Southern Vectis (The Island’s Buses)
Onward transport to Newport, on a No.9 bus, leaves the Bus Station at Ryde Esplanade at 10 minute intervals and takes 30 minutes.
Wightlink offer 50% concessionary rate travel on their ferries over the race weekend, details will be provided on entry.
Awards:
Women Overall (1st, 2nd, 3rd), U20 (1st), 10 year vet categories FV35 to FV65 (1st, 2nd), FV75 (1st). Teams of 3 (1st, 2nd, 3rd).
Men Overall (1st, 2nd, 3rd), U20 (1st), 10 year vet categories MV40 to MV70 (1st, 2nd), MV80 (1st). Teams of 3 (1st, 2nd, 3rd).
Note: All awards are based on gun time. Overall winners can also win vet category prizes.
Souvenir for all finishers.
Presentation will take place at the race HQ at approximately 12:30 to 13:00. Prizes not collected at the presentation will be posted within 7 days of the race.
Requests to amend results will be considered up to 3 days after the race. Requests to change an entry type from Unaffiliated to Affiliated, must be made before the day of the race.

The Course:
The START is located at the South end of Sea Street. ///budgeted.retrieves.canines
The course is undulating throughout and runs via Barton, New Fairlee Farm, Belmont Woods, Wootton Station, Fernhill to Lakeside, Firestone Copse Road, Newnham Lane, Bartons Corner and Dame Anthony’s Common. Finish is on the grounds of Ryde High School, Pell Lane, Ryde.
Course length approximately 7 miles
A water station is located at approximately 3.6 Miles.
No littering outside the water stations.
The course is not suitable for wheelchairs, due to stiles and extreme terrain.
