It was my first 100k at race to the stones and I must say it was fantastic and a must for the ultra runner or walker. Weather was very mixed and loved the rain and mud and the challenge of it all. Lots of lovely runners and walkers to meet was a treat 👌

Perhaps the best beginner friendly ultra in the UK. I'm proud to say that I did the first edition of the Race to the Stones - back in 2013. It was the furthest I'd ever run in one go and most time on my feet. If you've never run along the Ridgeway before, you'll know it's beautiful. It's amazing to think that it's so close to London, so green and peaceful is the route and its surroundings. It didn't help that it was ridiculously hot (it was the year that SAS soldiers were dropping with heat exhaustion whilst on exercise), so we all suffered a little. But the standout feature of the race was the quality of the staff. The guys at Threshold Sports know how to put on a good event. Atmosphere, quality of the aid stations, the medal, the staff, the route - it's all five stars! If you're hesitating. Don't. It's simply a fabulous experience and what better way to pop your ultra cherry, than being looked after by Threshold Sports. Coming 2nd in the race - that was just a bonus!!
