Rip'n' Run XL

Sat 17th October 2026

A scenic landscape with grassy hills in the foreground, a dried-out reservoir or lake in the middle distance, and rolling hills under a cloudy sky in the background. A wooden post with a yellow marker stands in the grass. A cloudy sky over a mostly drained reservoir, with patches of water and exposed sand or mud. In the foreground, an old stone wall and green railing run along the edge. A gravel path stretches into the distance across open fields under a wide, cloudy sky at sunset, with the sun glowing orange near the horizon. A rocky dirt path winds through grassy moorland under a dramatic, colorful sunset sky. The sun is setting on the horizon, casting warm orange and yellow hues over the landscape. A small pond is visible to the left. A weathered, white concrete trig point stands on grassy moorland under a partly cloudy sky, with rolling hills visible in the distance. Panoramic view of a green, hilly landscape under a clear blue sky with low-lying mist over a valley and a large stone monument or tower on the right side. A winding dirt path cuts through grassy hills under a partly cloudy sky, with wooden benches and posts along the trail and green valleys in the distance. A calm lake bordered by trees and grassy hills under a blue sky with scattered clouds. Sunlight illuminates the landscape, and the shoreline is lined with rocks and green vegetation. A grassy field leads up to an elevated highway with large blue road signs displaying directions. The sky is overcast with grey clouds, and streetlights line the road above the grassy slope. A weathered stone marker stands in tall grass, with the word "PITLOAM" engraved vertically on its surface, partially covered in moss. Three rectangular stone sculptures shaped like sheep stand on green grass in a field, with a stone wall and trees in the background. A nighttime cityscape with many twinkling lights spreads across rolling hills under a cloudy sky. A stone wall is visible in the foreground, and the scene is viewed from an elevated vantage point.

Organiser's Description

It.s coming to the end of race season. so why not indulge in a little R’n’R.

Have you done 50k? Now looking for the next step up?

Why not try our 40-mile event - With just over 5,000 ft of elevation, it.’s a good way to work up to 50 miles.

Set off from Wadsworth, just above Hebden Bridge at 7am, you should be up by Stoodley Pike for sunrise, if you are lucky you could get some spectacular photos!

4 checkpoints plus hot food at HQ means you will be well fed.

2 of those checkpoints are indoors, meaning proper toilets and somewhere to shelter should the weather not be on your side.

That doesn’t sound like enough?

Completed 100k & working towards the big one?

Why not do it twice…

28 hours to complete 80 miles means you get sunrise and sunset.

HQ acts as your 5th checkpoint & soup is available there and hot food at the finish.

The route is half open moorland, half road, but don’t let that put you off, they are small, quiet country lanes and tracks, and we feel you will be ready for the gear change by the time you are 20/40 miles in. The last few miles are back on moorland, but this could make it a fast course. The weather in October could also mean dry feet are a bonus.

Cut offs

the 80-mile loop has 28 hours to complete, this means you have to be out of CP8 by 8am Sunday morning.

There are no cut offs on the 40 mile loop.

Drop bag

Those running 80 miles can have a drop bag at HQ for the halfway point.

Registration

Wadsworth Community Centre from 6am Saturday 18th October

Post Race

There will be hot food and refreshments.

You will recieve your bespoke medal and the top 3 male/female will recieve our very special plaques.
