Rough Runner - London North (Saturday)

Finsbury Park, London

Finsbury Park, London, UK

Sat 7th September 2019

Starting at 10:00

Organiser's Description

Rough Runner is back in the City, returning to Finsbury Park, where we’ll be hosting our 5k and 10k obstacle routes within spitting distance of the tube. It’s no easy feat, but we manage to bring a full range of massive, awesome obstacles onto a public common, and stage the biggest urban obstacle event in the country. We know of no other event which brings a range of obstacles so ambitious, and so much fun into the centre of the Capital.

We’ll be bringing the legendary Travelator with us to the doorstep of millions of Londoners, and giving you the opportunity to bring your favourite TV game show memories into reality. Inspired by shows like Total Wipeout, Gladiators and Ninja Warrior, this is the only event that will give you the chance to take on a load of epic obstacles that you’ve only ever seen on screen, and always wanted to try.

Roughian Rascals is also back, designed specifically for adventure-seeking kids from 7 to 12 years old.

How To Get There

If you’ve always fancied taking part in one of our events, but getting there has been too much of a task, this is our most accessible location by far for public transport!

By train: your best bet is Finsbury Park, Haringey or Haringey Green Lanes, which are each from 2-5 mins walk.

Finsbury Park or Manor House underground stations are even closer - both about a 2 minute walk.

By bus: there are about a dozen routes that will put you within throwing distance of the Park, so your best bet is to check the tfl.gov.uk website and find the best for you.

What's Included

Free access to the event for all spectators

Free bag drop service

Medal

Roughian wristband

Parking

We don't offer car parking at our Finsbury event, there is simply not enough space! So don't drive! It’ll be tricky to find parking nearby, it’ll probably be expensive, and who wants to navigate weekend traffic in London anyway?

So we don't recommend driving - Finsbury Park is so easily accessible by the overground, underground and bus network! If you do need to drive, then you'll simply have to find a parking meter or car park nearby.

Event Details

Minimum age for participants in the 5k and 10k events is 16 yrs

Start times will be from 9am through to approx 3pm. We will advise you of your start time about 7 - 10 days prior to the event date.

Please arrive on site around 1 hour prior to your start time, to get yourself registered, set up and ready to run!

Things you'll need to bring:

  • A print out of your ticket, a signed waiver (here), and photo ID. You can’t race without!
  • Cash for food and drinks on site - card payment machines can be temperamental.
  • Suitable clothing. This is up to you, but we'd suggest a warm change of clothes for after the event and gloves to use during (for all those nets and ropes). You will get muddy, and so will your trainers, so don't wear anything you are particularly precious about!
