Running and Yoga - trip 1

We are following current UK Government guidelines in delivering trail running trips. They are conducted in line with England Athletics guidelines to ensure your safety. In addition, you will need to carry with you (not wear) on all of our trips until further notice a face covering (we will have facemasks for sale for £2 if you arrive without one) and personal alcohol-based hand gel as well as adhering to current social distancing guidelines.
At Run the Wild we have appointed Simon James as COVID-19 Officer. Within this role a risk assessment has been completed, and will be updated, for all UK events with specific regard to COVID-19 and a COVID-19 action plan put in place, in addition to our standard risk assessments. Any updates to Government Guidance will be monitored, and procedures adjusted accordingly, and a COVID-19 secure environment will be maintained. All UK events are held in the outdoors with no requirement to be indoors at any time. All clients are asked to confirm they are exhibiting no symptoms prior to coming to a Run the Wild event, and are required to carry a face covering (checked on arrival), and hand gel. All participant contact details are recorded which can be shared upon request with the government’s Test and Trace initiative. All guides carry a mask and hand sanitisers, and have been briefed on COVID-19 protocols in case of an emergency situation where the administering of first aid is required. In line with England Athletics guidance, and the provision of a COVID-19 secure environment, groups will be limited to a maximum of 12 clients per run leader/coach or when relevant will reflect any changes to the guidelines. We typically operate at a much lower guide to client ratio than this limit. These precautions will enable the continued safe running of our trips, thank you.
What we ask of you, the client:
Please do not attend any of our trips if you are displaying any COVID-19 symptoms, or if someone in your household is and requires you to self-isolate.
Ensure you carry a face covering and personal alcohol-based hand gel, as you run.
Please follow instructions of where to meet your guide to reduce mingling.
Adhere to current social distancing guidelines before, during and after your run, with regards to other runners, and other trails users and members of the public.
Good hygiene must be practised at all times. This includes bringing your own hand sanitiser, keeping the touching of gates to an absolute minimum, and a strict policy of no spitting while running.
Please check your local government guidelines in regards to travel, public transport and overnight accommodation. This also includes following current tiering based guidelines.
On this holiday we provide a 2 half-day running adventure break combined with yoga aimed at yogis looking to discover trail running in the mountains for the first time, as well as more experienced runners looking for a spot of comfort whilst pursuing their passion for running and yoga. There are many route options around the area which will take us to both sides of the valley. The trails vary from pine woods to rocky exposed routes, something for everyone. We pick some really beautiful 13km (approx.) trails for you whilst you which show off the valley at its best, so you get a good flavour of what to expect on our longer adventures. We will also look at some of the trail techniques that will make you a more proficient trail runner. You will get some breath taking views of Mt Blanc as well as the Aiguilles (needles).
Since this holiday is focused on comfort, running and yoga, the trail runs will last around 3.5 hours a day followed by an alpine yoga session leaving you relaxed and ready to enjoy the rest of each day, to relax and explore Chamonix and possibly even take a trip up to the Aiguille du Midi. You will be staying in a 4* spa hotel with access to a pool and other amenities so you can unwind and enjoy the views. On the Friday evening we will meet up for dinner with your guide as well as some of the Run the Wild Team. As with all Run the Wild holidays, all you have to do is book your flights, turn up and run - we will take care of the rest
A deposit of £150 will be taken at the time of sign-up with the balance taken 6 weeks before the trip is due to start. It is also possible to schedule payments following your deposit to make paying for the trip easier.

Accommodation & Transport
2 nights in a 4* spa hotel at Le Refuge des Aiglons (or similar alternative) including breakfast each morning and an evening meal at one of Chamonix's highly rated restaurants. This is on a twin sharing basis, unless you have requested a single room (which if available, there is a supplement). Amenities include the spa which has a heated outdoor pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna, the hotel also has an outdoor space to relax in and free WiFi as well as a beautiful atrium bar area. It’s located in the centre of Chamonix. Transport to/from Chamonix via Geneva can be booked via one of the many minibus operators (e.g. Chamexpress, Mountain Drop-Offs, Alpybus or Easybus) that provide a regular shuttle service, if you are a group we can arrange this and can be added to your invoice.
This holiday is aimed at yogi runners looking for an introduction to running trails in the Alps whilst incorporating the key principles of yoga to help you run more efficiently and safely. The trails wind along the side of the valleys as well as climb up above the tree line and so we can adjust the route according to the ability of the group. Be prepared to walk uphills to get the great views! Our experienced and qualified Lead Runners will offer many tips along the way so whether you are relatively new to running trails, just looking to explore the valley or a speedier runner looking for a short luxury break then this is an excellent holiday for you! The Lead Runner will route find and as with all our running adventures you will be running as part of a team. Following your adventures in the Alps, runners will be guided through two yoga classes, suitable for all levels including beginners. Aimed to support your running, the restorative sessions will release any muscle tension accumulated during the day in the hills, as well as working on flexibility and strength.
Arrival will be on Friday afternoon / evening at the accommodation. Departure will be on the Sunday afternoon in time for Sunday evening flights (full details in your booking pack)
