Participants will experience the beauty of the Fürenalp valley while tackling runnable trails with impressive elevation gains, designed to challenge and inspire. The event kicks off with a Vertical Race, leading runners from the town to the Brunni gondola station, followed by an energizing Apres-Trail party! With immaculate trails and a supportive atmosphere, this event is an incredible opportunity to connect with the vibrant European trail running scene. We are excited to introduce to you our BRAND NEW RTTrails event, and our first ever event in Switzerland!
THE ENGELBERG 25KM, 56KM & 100KM
Located 25km South of Lucerne, the picturesque town of Engelberg almost doesn’t seem real. The cobbled streets, beautiful Swiss hotels and 900 year old Benedictine Monastery are surrounded by rolling green pastures, out of which rise the titanic glaciated mountain peaks. This valley is truly magical and with 500km of trails to choose from you will not be disappointed.
We have combined runnable trails with big elevation to create a range of challenges to suit everyone’s running aspirations. The routes don’t involve any exposed or heavily technical sections. Despite big elevation, the trails are very runnable, ideal for runners branching out into the European trail running scene.
Our Vertical Race opens up the weekend-long event and takes you from town, up to the Brunni gondola station for a well deserved Apres-Trail party!
The 25K, 56K and 100K routes all pass through the stunning Fürenalp valley before heading out towards Brunni and beyond. The trails are immaculate and the terrain is truly world class. The phrase ‘hidden gem’ doesn’t even get close…
