Organiser's Description

This 50km excursion takes participants along a beautifully varied route, that Joe has devised to enable you to experience the River Conwy at it's very best. Starting high up on the Mignient at Llyn Conwy, the route takes you down into the Machno valley, through Penmachno, passing the Conwy Falls at the A5, through Betws y Coed and heading up high into the Gwydyr Forest as you traverse high above the Conwy Valley. A spectacular culmination sees you pass below Tal y Fan, over Sychnant Pass and Conwy Mountain, before descending to the wonderful town of Conwy - and completion of your journey from Source 2 Sea!

Ascent: 1653m

Terrain: Multi - Mostly Trail/Hill terrain

Start time: 7am

Due to the remote location of the start point, we shall provide transport up to the start for those that want it - this shall leave Ruthin Craft Centre at 6am, and Denbigh Morrisons car park at 6.15am. This needs to be booked seperately, upon signing up to get a space. We shall not be provided formal transport back from Conwy at the end of the challenge, so you'll need to arrange your own lift back or utilise the train station/bus links to help you get home. That said, if you are stuck we will have some room to take a couple of people back to the Ruthin/Denbigh area.

As with all of our Guided Run Challenges, we shall be walking briskly the climbs, and running the flat/downhill sections. This, coupled with the stops at support checkpoints where we provide water and your bags of kit/food - gives us a completion time of 8 hours and a pace of just under 4mph.

A day full of great views, company and memories will be yours along with a bespoke Source 2 Sea wooden memento, upon completion.
