Summer White Rose Ultra 30
Sun 21st June 2020

Organiser's Description
We have been through every possible scenario that we can think of over the past few days for the next few months of events with regards to the situation presented to us by the COVID-19/ Coronavirus.
We are very sad to announce today that:
The WRU is to be postponed, at present we can not offer a new date as this event is run from an education establishment they too could not give us an idea just yet.
Any entries will be carried forward to the new dates as soon as we have them for 2020, if you have already entered you don’t need to do anything further. If when we announce the new date you cannot make it, or would prefer not to run the event on the new date, you are able to cancel your entry then for a 60% refund.
You can also move your entry over to the White Rose Ultra, 30, 60-mile etc,
Like many other race organisations, we have tried to wait as long as possible in the hope that the situation would not develop as far as it has. At this present time yours and our safety during the above events is paramount, from a staffing, volunteer, medical team or runner perspective.
- [ ] We require a minimum number volunteers at each event, we can not guarantee this.
- [ ] We face the possibility of staff shortages due to infection and or self isolation, we are aware that many would have to drop in the last hours.
- [ ] Whilst the government has not stated that we have to postpone, for your and our safety this is the best option
- [ ] At this moment technically we could put on some of these events, but we can not guarantee that we will be able to at the time
- [ ] We are able to at this moment to source medical support for the events but again as these provisions become more strained, our events become a low priority and potentially they will be able to provide zero medical cover.
- [ ] We want to provide all our participants the best financial outcome we can, whilst still having the ability to continue events in the future.
Like other events organisers we are feeling quite frankly devastated at this moment in time, and have not taken any of these decisions lightly, we are more than aware of the potential issues and damage that this may cause for us and our events but we hope that you will rally around and support, not just us but all other events out there.
We would like to treat everyone the same way, we hopefully have a clear policy in place now that we can all work with.
If you have any questions please contact us via either message here or email to [email protected] the email etc is rather busy at the moment but we will get back to each and every email we receive, just give us time!
The Sumer White Rose Ultra - 30 miles from start to finish through the fantastic Yorkshire countryside, (it's actually 31.7 miles, that's 1.7 miles extra for free!), the perfect introduction to ultra distance running. You simply follow this amazingly well marked route, doing just the 1 lap.

The course is multi-terrain, with hills - one or two big hills - sections of natural tracks and trails, and some fantastic views! The last two or three miles is a lovely long down hill, or was it up hill... A Summer run, After party, BBQ, and Bar! (Exact start location tbc)

- Whistle
- Foil blanket

We will be doing random spot checks throughout the whole day, anyone who does not have this mandatory kit with them will be DQ'd These checks could take place at HQ, at one of the aid stations, or just at a CP we set up on the day.
Race numbers must be pinned/attached to your race t-shirt/top or race belt, and any medical conditions clearly written on the back of your number. You will need to show your race numbers for the duration of the ultra and at prize giving.
Race results will be published within two days after the race ends, on the WRU website under the 'Event Results'. On the day results will be available from the Race Results centre - somewhere near the finish line. We may even email results to you but we can't promise this!
