The Etape du Dales, organised by findarace.com, is set to take place on Sunday 19th May 2019 in Skipton, North Yorkshire. This challenging event covers 110 miles in the Yorkshire Dales, starting and finishing at Wharfedale Rugby Club in Threshfield. This year, the route will run in a clockwise direction, with the finishing climb being the North side of Fleet Moss. With steep climbs and technical descents, this ride requires a high level of fitness, but offers a rewarding experience for cyclists. The event features major climbs of the Yorkshire Dales, providing riders with a height gain equivalent to a Tour de France mountain stage. For those looking for a shorter option, there is a 60-mile route available. Still covering the same 110 miles in the Yorkshire Dales as in previous years, and starting and finishing at Wharfedale Rugby Club in Threshfield near Grassington, the 2019 event will again turning the tables and will this year will run in a clockwise direction, with the finishing climb being the North side of Fleet Moss.
This is is an extremely difficult ride and requires an excellent level of fitness. It takes in the major climbs of the Yorkshire Dales, which means steep and technical descents as well. With a height gain equivalent to a Tour de France mountain stage, the Etape du Dales figures on most riders' 'must do' list! So, why not come and ride over some of the Country’s most challenging terrain and experience some of the roads used in the 2014 Tour!
If you don't feel up to the full distance, or want to see what the Dales has to offer before committing to the challenge of the main event, the shorter 60 miler could be just the ride for you!
