The Unity Ultra

Christchurch

Akaroa, New Zealand

Sat 21st March 2020

Organiser's Description

Inspired by the incredible spirit of togetherness demonstrated by the people of Christchurch in the aftermath of the March 15 attack, and as a response to that terrible day, we are proud to be assembling a small team for a unique 51 mile ultramarathon, and 3 days together in March 2020.

51 miles to honour and celebrate the lives of those that passed while fundraising to support the great work of the New Zealand Red Cross.

The stunning and challenging ultramarathon hugs the coastline of South Island, and stretching from Akaroa to Christchurch presents our team of runners with over 2500m of elevation.

The team has already been joined by a number of both world class endurance athletes (including the extraordinary New Zealander Lisa Tamati who will lead our event), enthusiastic amateurs and newcomers to ultra-running.

We are excited to have places available for brave individuals wanting to make The Unity Ultra their first ultramarathon, to take on this life-defining challenge and be part of a unique shared experience and impact.

The spirit, support and inspiration provided to team members will match the importance of the message of unity we want to send and the impact we are seeking to make.

Join us for an extraordinary 3 days from March 20-22 2020.
