Organiser's Description

Ultra X Finland takes place in the Salpausselkä UNESCO Global Geopark, situated in the Lahti region in southern Finland. It offers two races: Ultra X 110 Finland and Ultra X 50 Finland. The 110 event is a two-stage race taking place on Saturday and Sunday, whilst the 50 event is a single-stage race taking place on the Sunday.

A land carved out of water, the incredible terrain was formed by the meltwaters of the continental glacier some 12,000 years ago. The land of a thousand lakes and the midnight sun, the tranquil forests offer an amazing location for trail running and reconnecting with nature.

Ultra X Finland’s races are both UTMB® Index Races, in the 50k category.

Course Details

The race organisers create each leg to be as spectacular as possible, showcasing the beauty of the Salpausselkä UNESCO Global Geopark. The course takes runners through mossy forests, alongside tranquil lakes, past Stone Age hill forts and along many pine covered trails. The route may change slightly each year depending on the weather, permissions and other varying factors. GPX files will be provided to runners in the week before the race.

Location

We advise participants travelling from abroad to fly into Helsinki
Airport at least a day if not more ahead of the race and transfer to
Lahti (1hr) by train or hire car. Participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation prior to the race. Reduced rates at various hotels, thanks to our partnership with Visit Lahti can be accessed through the following booking portal.

We have some of the most relaxed cut-offs in the industry. To us, it’s not about what time you get, it’s the adventure you have along the way. On average you will have between 2hrs 30 mins to complete each 10km (in-between checkpoints). Exact race cut-offs can be found in the race information pack.

In the event that you cannot finish a stage at one of our events you will be offered entry into the following edition of the race at half price entry
