VeloPark 10 Mile by Mornington Chasers
North London running club Mornington Chasers are delighted to bring you a rare, one of a kind event this October 17th - a 10 mile, socially distanced, accurately chip timed, UK Athletics licensed and measured race.
Mornington Chasers have been unable to host their much loved Regent's Park 10K this winter, whilst 2020 should have been an Olympic year. So instead, they are offering you the opportunity to race 10 miles through the Lee Valley Olympic VeloPark - the perfect venue to test your mettle and inspire your running.
10 miles is the classic club runner's race distance, as well as being an excellent challenge for those who are looking to push beyond 10K. Take part in the VeloPark 10 Mile on 17th October for this fantastic grass roots race organised by one of London's friendliest clubs together with The Race Organiser.
Our event has been fully approved by the Velopark who have looked in detail at our race day plans and risk assessments. The event has been carefully designed to ensure that it will be able to go ahead unless lockdown restrictions are significantly tightened. If the event is cancelled for any reason we will provide a refund minus the costs we have incurred. Our costs increase as the race approaches, so in the event of a last-minute cancellation there may be no refund.
NHS Test and Trace will be enforced at this event and all participants required to complete a health declaration prior to attending. Participants will not be permitted on site if they have not completed the form which will be communicated in the week leading up to the race.
One-way navigation and social-distancing signage will be present on site to facilitate adherence to official guidance. Participants should review the UKA Participant Code of Conduct prior to arrival.
Sanitisation stations will be available at various points on site and any items collected post-race (medal, water etc.) will be self service to faciltiate a non-contact environment amongst staff and participants.
Participants will start individually at (approximately) 15 second intervals - to maintain sufficient social-distancing between runners - with a recommended 15-minute arrival window communicated to all participants prior to the event.
Participants from the same household will be permitted to start together.
Entry on the Day will not be available at this event.
Race Numbers will be available for collection on the day. To be fastened to the front of your top using safety pins provided, your number should be visible at all times. Your timing chip is attached to the back of your number and should not be removed. You must complete the relevant health information on the reverse of your number prior to starting your race.
The Route will be contained entirely on the road circuit and is suitable for runners of all abilities. Runners are required to complete 10 laps of the course to achieve the full 10 mile distance. Runners are asked to remain vigilant of other runners, marshals or officials on the course at all times.
This race will be Licensed with UK Athletics and the results submitted to Run Britain within a week of the race.
Pacers will not be offered at this race.
Start times between 09:30-11:30, allocated in starting waves, based on your estimated finish time.
A self-service Bag Drop will be available. Whilst we recommend bringing as little as possible, you can leave essential belongings with us while you race using the tear-off baggage strip on your race number. You can then present your race number on collection to retrieve your item.
