Organiser's Description
This route combines the flat and hilly fifty milers. Starting in Taunton, you will follow the canal path to Bridgwater Docks - hopefully you won't have used up all your energy banking some uber-fast miles - then keep on plodding down the River Parrett Trail to Steart Marshes Nature Reserve. From Steart you will follow the West Somerset Coast Path all the way to Minehead. Pause here and gather yourself for the second half, which is where the hills begin.... But wonderful views will take your mind off their steepness, as will Exmoor at its most captivating. The descent back into Minehead is long, but you will know you are on the home stretch and that there is a feast awaiting you.
